Sauna & Wellbeing

A sauna is much more than just heat—it is a proven ritual for health, relaxation, and inner balance. Saunas are one of the oldest wellness rituals in the world. The combination of heat, tranquility, and conscious relaxation has a holistic effect on the body and mind. Regular sauna visits not only promote general well-being, but also provide valuable breaks from everyday life.

Sauna and wellbeing go hand in hand. The sauna is a place where health, relaxation, and mindfulness come together. It slows you down, reduces stress hormones, and creates space for inner balance. The body regenerates, the mind calms down—a wellness ritual that simply does you good.

How does a sauna affect the body?

1. Strengthening the immune system

The alternation between heat and cold trains the body's own defenses. Many people who regularly use the sauna report fewer colds and improved resistance.

2. Relaxation of the muscles

Heat relieves tension and can promote blood circulation. Muscles and joints relax—ideal after an active day.

3. Stress reduction

The tranquility combined with the cozy warmth of the sauna creates an ideal environment for switching off and reducing stress. The body releases fewer stress hormones and the mind comes to rest.

4. Cleansing the skin

Sweating opens the pores of the skin. Dead skin cells are removed, allowing the skin to breathe more easily and often leaving it feeling smoother and softer after a sauna session.

How to use a sauna correctly—dos and don'ts

A conscious sauna session enhances the effect and ensures a pleasant experience for all guests. Follow these simple rules to get the most out of your sauna time.

Do's – How to use the sauna correctly

Before the sauna session

  • Shower thoroughly and dry yourself well—this increases the effect of the heat and ensures hygiene.
  • Do not go to the sauna on a full or completely empty stomach.
  • Choose a comfortable temperature – it's better to start lower and increase gradually.
  • Use a towel that is large enough to avoid direct contact with the wood.

In the sauna

  • Stay calm and relax—the sauna is a place of tranquility.
  • Choose an upright sitting or lying position depending on your personal comfort.
  • Allow 10–15 minutes per sauna session – quality is more important than length.
  • Consciously enjoy the infusions and avoid entering or leaving the sauna during this time.
  • Pay attention to your body – leave the sauna immediately if you feel unwell.

After the sauna session

  • Cool off in the fresh air and take a cold shower.
  • Then rest for at least 10–20 minutes to stabilize your circulation.
  • Drink enough fluids—ideally water or herbal tea.

Don'ts – What you should avoid

Before the sauna session

  • No alcohol—it puts strain on the circulatory system.
  • No intense training immediately before – cool down first, then take a sauna.
  • Do not go to the sauna when you are rushed or pressed for time.

In the sauna

  • Do not use wet towels—they insulate the heat.
  • Do not speak loudly or make phone calls.
  • No unsolicited glances or conversations—respect privacy.
  • Don't force yourself to stay too long—let your body set the pace.
  • Do not use the sauna immediately after eating—this puts strain on the circulation.

After the sauna session

  • Don't get up too quickly—your circulation needs time.
  • Do not eat or consume alcohol immediately.
