Statement on accessibility

Konferenzhotel Schlaining Ges.m.b.H is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Accessibility of Federal Websites and Mobile Applications (Accessibility Act, BaFG).

This accessibility statement applies to: www.burghotel-schlaining.at

Status of compatibility with the requirements

This website is partially compliant with conformance level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines - WCAG 2.1" or with the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) according to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not barrier-free for the following reasons:

a. Incompatibility with the accessibility regulations

  • Lower color contrast: On the cookie banner
  • Keyboard Navigation & Focus Indicator: In the calendar within the booking tool and in the chat module, keyboard focus is sometimes not available throughout the entire interface.
  • ALT text: Some images have no alternative text or text that is not descriptive.
  • Touch targets are too close together: On mobile devices, the targets are too close together, making them harder to use.
  • Forms and error messages: Error messages are currently not being read correctly by screen readers (aria-describedby). An extensive technical update is already in the works.
  • HTML & Semantics: Some landmark elements are missing, which makes it difficult for screen reader users to navigate the page.
  • Compatibility with screen readers: Due to the partial absence or incorrect use of `aria-label` attributes and "Skip to Content" links, the site is not fully optimized for use with screen readers.

b. Disproportionate burden

  • PDF documents: Older PDF documents were created before accessibility guidelines took effect and are therefore not accessible.

We will endeavor to make future documents and videos accessible. For existing content, we offer accessible alternatives on request.

c. The contents do not fall within the scope of the applicable legal provisions

  • Archived content: Older PDF files and multimedia content published before June 28, 2025, are not accessible.
  • External content and embedded third-party services: Third-party content is not accessible.

Preparation of the accessibility declaration

This statement was created on June 2, 2025, and updated on May 6, 2026.

The assessment is based on a self-assessment and a manual evaluation conducted by a third party.
